Weingut Diefenhardt is among the top 200 wineries in Germany's VDP. The Deifenhardt wines were the first to circumnavigate the world on the Airship Graf Zepplin during the "Roaring" 1920s.
Situated in Marthinsthal Etville over the Rheingau, the area is rich in history and culture. Drinking wines from the Riesling and Pinot Noir vararities takes you back in time to important benchmarks in the German history.
In recent 19th and 20th Centuries history, The Rheingau gave inspiration to poets, writers, and composers. Most notably, writers Goethe and Dostoyevsky lived in this region and their literary works continue to be studied and revered to this day.
Music from Classic Composers Brahms and Wagner originated here and gave inspiration to their famous works such as Brahms Symphony No. 3 and Wagner's Iconic opera "The Ring of the Niebelung".
Last but not least, Elvis Presley was stationed in Germany and met his wife Priscilla in Wiesbaden. He later returned to film the "G.I. Blues" in which memorable songs such as "Wooden Heart" and "The Frankfurt Special" were made famous.
